Urgent News About Blood Tests

There is a national shortage of blood bottles which is expected to last until at least 17th September 2021.

THIS IS AFFECTING EVERY NHS HEALTHCARE SERVICE PROVIDER.

We have, therefore, been instructed by NHS England to postpone all non-urgent blood tests.

Urgent blood tests are classified as:

  • Those needed for a suspected cancer referral
  • Where the result might prevent a hospital admission
  • Tests required for safe prescribing

All appointments from Thursday 2nd September will be reviewed by a clinician, and any which do not fall into this category will be cancelled.

Further communications will be sent out as and when we are advised by NHS England that routine blood tests can recommence. We are very sorry for any inconvenience caused but this situation is entirely out of our control.

Thank you for your patience and understanding.
