Oak Tree Surgery and Pensilva Health Centre Patient Participation Group (PPG) is a group of volunteers, all of whom are patients of the Practice. The PPG aims to facilitate good relations between the Practice and patients by communicating patient experience, interests and concerns and providing feedback to the Practice on current procedures and proposed new developments. Additionally, to work collaboratively and positively with the Practice to improve services and facilities for patients and to act as a sounding board for practice staff on issues affecting patients. Also, to build two-way communication and co-operation between the Practice and patients, other individuals and organisations in healthcare, and the wider community; and to act as a representative group to support the Practice and influence local provision of health and social care. The PPG meets every other month, normally at Oak Tree. Any patient, or carer of a patient, can become a member and it is our desire to achieve the widest cross-section of patients as members.
Patients and carers of patients at Oak Tree and Pensilva are invited to come and meet the PPG and ask more about what we do, and it is all in a good cause!
Last year the PPG held their annual coffee morning and raised £165 for The Sepsis Trust. This year the beneficiary is the Cornwall Air Ambulance, who provide a vital service saving lives in emergencies in Cornwall. They receive no official funding and are funded entirely by donations from a grateful public. All of the proceeds from this year’s coffee morning will go directly to Cornwall Air Ambulance Trust.
We hope we will have many more patients visit us this year to enjoy a coffee, (herbal) tea, hot chocolate, cake, chat and find out more about Cornwall Air Ambulance and the PPG, so come along to Oak Tree Surgery 10am until 1pm on Friday 19th September. See you there!
