Dr Stephen Jefferies, male

MB, ChB (1980)

Dr Jefferies qualified from Liverpool University in 1980. He has been a partner in the practice since 1984. He has a particular interest in mental health and child health. Dr Jefferies is a member of the local medical committee providing support for GPs with stress and mental health problems. When not at work, he can often be found on stage at Sterts Theatre or scuba diving off the Cornish coast.

Dr Graham Toms, male

MB, BS (1984) MRCGP

Dr Toms qualified from University College London in 1984. He is now working on a part time basis. He also works as an expedition doctor on trips abroad.

Dr Emma Mantle, female

MB, ChB (1995)

Dr Mantle qualified from Bristol University in 1995. She currently works on Mondays and Thursdays.

Dr Chris Gilbert, male

MB, BS (1997) MRCGP

Dr Gilbert qualified from St Mary’s Hospital, London in 1997. He is interested in all aspects of general practice. He currently works four days a week.

Dr Ben Basterfield, male

MB, chB (2000) MRCP MRCGP

Dr Basterfield qualified from the University of Birmingham in 2000. He enjoys all aspects of general practice with interests in elderly care medicine and palliative care. 

Dr David Morris, male

MB BS (2013)

Dr Morris qualified from University of Nottingham in 2013. He is interested in all aspects of general practice and works four days a week. He enjoys being out on Dartmoor with his dog.

Dr Sean Hawkey, male

MBChB (2016) MRCGP

Dr Hawkey qualified from the University of Dundee in 2016. He is interested in all areas of general practice and currently works five days a week.

Dr Kate Northridge, female

MB BS, (2009) MRCGP DRCOG

Dr Northridge qualified from Peninsula Medical School in 2009. She is interested in all aspects of general practice and in 2024, began also working as part of our Research team.

Dr Lauren Baines, female

MBBS London 2009, BMedSci, MRCGP, DFFP

Works Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.

Dr Smitesh Patel, male

MBBS (2006), MRCS (Lond.), RCGP

Dr Patel qualified from University College London Medical School in 2006. He has recently moved to Cornwall after working in Essex as a GP and clinical director for the last 10 years. His initial training was in trauma and orthopaedic surgery. Within primary care he has a specialist interest in joint injections, minor surgery and acute/emergency medicine. In his spare time he enjoys reading autobiographies of popular culture icons, walking, cycling, swimming and watching his children play rugby.

Dr Hannah Szor, female

BSc (Hons), MBChB (2015), MRCGP

Dr Szor qualified from Keele University Medical school in 2015. After completing part of her general practice training at Oak Tree Surgery she has returned to the practice as a qualified GP. Dr Szor is interested in all aspects of general practice.

Dr Rachel Tyler, female

BMed Sci, BMBS ( 1997), DRCOG, FRCGP

Dr Tyler qualified from University of Nottingham in 1997 and completed her GP training in Nottingham and Derby, before relocating to the West Country in 2003. She was GP in Plymouth for 21 years and was involved in many aspects of general practice including the Local Medical Committee, and  was a Clinical Director for one of the Primary Care Networks.

She has an interest in women’s health, GP training  and is also involved with teaching and examining at Peninsula Medical School. Outside of general practice she is busy with her three children, walking on Dartmoor, crochet and painting. 

Dr Btari Adityani, female

BSc (Hons) 2015, MBBS (2017), MRCGP (2024), MClinEd 

After qualifying from St. George’s University of London, Dr Adityani moved to the South West, and has enjoyed living here ever since. She work Wednesdays to Fridays and enjoy all aspects of General Practice, with an interest in medical education and research. In her free time she loves to dote on her cat and eat pastries.
